Use of the WEBDIC Assistant

I, the author joined to a space development company recently(actuary July 1,1998). There are thousand of abbreviations such as ISS, International Space Station. I must memorize them if I do not want to be fired. It is very hard and boring. I have printed them and held them when I in the conference. However, I lost the point of the conference while I was searching the meaning of a abbreviations many times. So, I have decided to use a PDA(Personal Design Assistant) due to search the meaning of the abbreviations quickly.

The WEBDIC Assistant is designed for searching the meaning of a abbreviations first, but you will use it for other purpose. It is a Dictionary for the WEB environment.


How to use the WEBDIC Assistant

You need a excel table file which has pair of the word and its meaning. two or more meaning are available. Refer the table in Sample Table or sample.xls(Japanese Edition).

The first row must be a header and the contents of header cells are free. The number of the rows in the Excel95 worksheet can not exceed 16,384.

Open the webdic.xls(Japanese Edition) file, select [Tool|Macro...] menu item. Select and run the "Auto_Open_" macro, then you see the &WEBDIC Assistant& dialogbox. Select or enter Input File,Output Dir.,Search Depth and Top Page Title, and click the [Start] button. It is take long time if the number of rows of the input excel file.
